What is for sale here are a DIY kit of the Original Desktop Filament Extruder MK1 by ARTME 3D. The documentation for the extruder is open source and can be downloaded from my website: www.artme-3d.de/support. Please read the detailed product description before buying: www.artme-3d.de/products.

If you purchase the DIY kit from ARTME 3D, you will need the following material, which is not included, to build and operate the extruder:

  • 3D printed parts (white parts on the photos, files for download at www.artme-3d.de/support)
  • Table power supply 12VDC 12,5A.
  • An empty filament spool (diameter inner hole 50 to 60mm).
  • Required tools:
    • Phillips screwdriver PH1
    • Slotted screwdriver 2,5mm
    • Hammer
    • Sandpaper/Files
    • Superglue
    • Rubber gloves, dust mask
    • Access to a vise is an advantage.
    • If the 3D printer used for the 3D printed parts is not calibrated very accurately, it may be necessary to have a drill with 3.5mm, 5.5mm and 12mm drill bits.
    • A pair of needle nose pliers and a wire stripper are advantageous
    • Scissors
    • Electronic caliper to measure the filament diameter (good quality!)
    • Aluminum foil
    • Folding rule

Select optional extruder screw:

  • The extruder has two different extruder screw options, which must be selected at the time of purchase:
  • The extruder screw (high compression) is designed to process shredded 3D printing waste made from PLA, ABS and PETG. It can also be used to process certain plastics in pellet form such as PLA grades (optimized for 3D printing), ABS and PP.
  • The extruder screw (low compression) is tuned to process plastics in pellet form such as PLA, ABS, ASA, PETG, PP. Processing of nylon, PA or other engineering plastics cannot be guaranteed, but is often possible.

Processing time before can be shipped: :

  • 14-20 days


Skills and level of difficulty:

Building this extruder is a little more involved than building a 3D printer, for example. Among other things, the following activities are to be carried out:

  • Printing of a large number of parts (possibly several days printing time and. approx. 1 to 1.4 kg material consumption)
  • The reworking of 3D printed parts.
  • Filing of grooves in the feed zone of the extruder tube with the key file. (The file is included in the kit).
  • Wiring the electronics

Labor:

Depending on your experience in assembling such kits, you will need to allow between 6 and 15 hours of time for assembly.

Further above you can see the parts list of the extruder. All parts are included in the kit, except for the stl files and the empty filament spool, as well as the power supply.

Wenn Sie den DIY Bausatz von ARTME 3D erwerben, benötigen Sie folgendes Material, was nicht im Lieferumfang enthalten ist, um den Extruder aufbauen und betreiben zu können:

  • 3D gedruckten Bauteile (weiße Teile auf den Fotos, Dateien zum Download unter www.artme-3d.de/support)
  • Tisch-Netzteil 12VDC 12,5A.
  • Eine leere Filament-Spule (Durchmesser Innenloch 50 bis 60mm)
  • Benötigtes Werkzeug:
    • Kreuzschlitz-Schraubendreher PH1
    • Schlitzschraubendreher 2,5mm
    • Hammer
    • Schleifpapier/Feilen
    • Sekundenkleber
    • Gummihandschuhe, Staubschutzmaske
    • Zugang zu einem Schraubstock ist von Vorteil.
    • Wenn der verwendete 3D Drucker für die 3D Druckteile nicht sehr genau kalibriert ist, kann es nötig sein eine Bohrmaschine mit 3.5mm, 5.5mm und 12mm Bohrer zu haben.
    • Eine Spitzzange und eine Abisolierzange sind von Vorteil
    • Schere
    • Elektronischer Messschieber zum messen des Filamentdurchmessers (gute Qualität!)
    • Aluminium-Folie
    • Zollstock

Optionale Extruderschnerschnecke auswählen

  • Der Extruder hat zwei verschiedene Extruderschnecken-Optionen, welche beim Kauf ausgewählt werden müssen:
  • Die Extruderschnecke (high compression) ist auf die Verarbeitung von geschredderten 3D Druckabfällen aus PLA, ABS und PETG abgestimmt. Darüber hinaus lassen sich damit auch bestimmte Kunststoffe in Pellet-Form wie PLA Sorten (auf 3D Druck optimiert), ABS und PP verarbeiten.
  • Die Extruderschnecke (low compression) ist auf die Verarbeitung von Kunststoffen in Pellet-Form wie PLA, ABS, ASA, PETG, PP abgestimmt. Die Verarbeitung von Nylon, PA oder anderen technischen Kunststoffen kann nicht garantiert werden, ist aber oft möglich.

Bearbeitungszeit bevor versendet werden kann: :

    • 14-20 Tage

Fähigkeiten und Schwierigkeitsgrad:

Der Aufbau dieses Extruders ist ein wenig aufwändiger, als Beispielsweise der Aufbau eines 3D Druckers. Es sind unter anderem folgende Tätigkeiten auszuführen:

    • Das Drucken von sehr vielen Teilen (unter Umständen mehrere Tage Druckzeit und. ca. 1 bis 1.4 kg Materialverbrauch)
    • Das Nacharbeiten von 3D Druck-Teilen.
    • Das Feilen von Rillen in der Einzugszone des Extruder-Rohrs mit der Schlüsselfeile. (Die Feile ist im Bausatz inklusive)
    • Verkabelung der Elektronik

Arbeitsaufwand:

Je nach Ihrer Erfahrung im Aufbau solcher Bausätze müssen Sie zwischen 6 und 15 Stunden Zeit für den Aufbau einplanen.
